Students in the Lake Washington School District need to complete 1.5 credits of P.E. during high school.
Because ICS does not offer P.E. classes, students complete the LWSD Fitness Plan.
Please read more about meeting this requirement below.
LWSD Fitness Plan (Written) for 11th and/or 12th grade: Physical Education Credit Options (lwsd.org)
Please make a note of the dates for submission; there are three opportunities in the 2023-2024 school year.
You do NOT need to submit the Appendix E form, as all ICS students will complete the Fitness Plan.
If you are a junior, please read through the requirements outlined by the LWSD and decide on a date for submission this year.
Seniors, if you still need to meet this graduation requirement, please get started right away and plan on submitting by the first district deadline.
Students need 1.0 credit of Occupational Education (Occ. Ed.) during high school to graduate. CTE courses at ICS include: AP Environmental Science, Graphic Production, and AP Statistics. Most students fulfill this requirement by taking AP Environmental Science in 10th grade.
Alternatively, the nearby Kirkland WANIC Skill Center offers summer classes for students and many of them can count towards Occupational Education credits. Classes taken through WANIC during the summer will automatically be added to your high school transcript. Students can look for sign-up information in March/April at WANIC.org
