IB World School:

In March 2026, International Community School was authorized as an IB World School, the culmination of a rigorous two-year process. IB World Schools share a common philosophy—a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education—that ICS believes is important for our students.

ICS now offers the Diploma Programme (DP) in grades 11 and 12 and is also in the Schoolwide IB initiative, a group of schools that enroll all students in at least one IB course, believing that all students can succeed in IB learning environments.

IB Mission Statement:
The IB develops inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through education that builds intercultural understanding and respect.

As IB Learners, we will strive to be:
  • Inquirers: We nurture our curiosity, developing skills for inquiry and research. We know how to learn independently and with others. We learn with enthusiasm and sustain our love of learning throughout life.
     
  • Knowledgeable: We develop and use conceptual understanding, exploring knowledge across a range of disciplines. We engage with issues and ideas that have local and global significance
     
  • Thinkers: We use critical and creative thinking skills to analyze and take responsible action on complex problems. We exercise initiative in making reasoned, ethical decisions.
