Choice School Application Timeline for 2022-23

  • November 1, 2021 – Online application opens
  • December 3, 2021 – Online applications due by 4:00 p.m.
  • December 92021 at 6PM - ICS Information Night (virtual)
  • January 7, 2022 – Lottery held at district
  • January 14, 2022 – Notification to families
  • January 26, 2022 – Acceptance deadline

All Lake Washington School District students entering 6th grade are welcome to apply and must do so by December 11, 2020. Priority is determined solely by a lottery system so that all who apply have an equal chance to attend. Those who are not chosen will be put on a wait list. While the lottery is for incoming 6th graders, older students may apply also, but will be admitted on a "space available" basis. Above is a list of dates relating to student application procedure to ICS.

Names not selected will be placed on a wait-list and will be notified when a space opens. While waiting, students should enroll at their local middle school, as there is no way to determine if and when an opening will occur. All prospective ICS families must follow and complete the application process and adhere to all dates and timelines.

Additional Information:

New openings may become available before or even after the school year begins, and we will contact families via email in waitlist order.

***Any student offered placement from the waitlist will have 24 hours to accept or decline placement. We strongly recommend that families with a low waitlist number do research about ICS in advance to be able to respond quickly.***

We encourage every family still interested in the possibility of enrollment at ICS to view our virtual Information Night 2021 on December 6th at 6:PM. Please see the district's information on their page about choice schools.

As a reminder, our waitlists are continuous. Students should NOT reapply in future years as this will result in a higher waitlist number. There is, however, no guarantee of new placements in grades 7-12.
